Frequently Asked Questions

"We are all in this together. There is no therapist and no person immune to the inherent tragedies of existence."

Why should I go to therapy?

Therapy is a wonderful space for us to explore aspects of ourselves and our environment free from judgment. It allows us to be carefully informed of our blind spots in a genuine and caring space.  For many people, therapy is the best tool for personal growth and transformation. Congratulations on making it this far! The first step is recognizing that you're ready to make some changes. Next, all you have to do is fill in the contact form for a consultation. During this consultation, we will speak a little bit about what has brought you here. I will also give you the opportunity to ask me some questions about the therapeutic process. After the consultation, we will schedule an appointment and paperwork will be sent to your e-mail. Although many people are often nervous prior to their first appointment, I've found that those nerves dissipate shortly into our first session. I've streamlined this process to make it comfortable for you.

What can I expect?

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. Currently, I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Why would I opt to self-pay?

Insurance can be a wonderful thing. However, it does come with one limitation that is bothersome for many individuals. That is the fact that insurance companies require a diagnosis for treatment. Clients that are interested in receiving therapy without the diagnosis will often opt to self-pay. Have further questions about this? We can cover those in the initial consultation.
